There is some strange intimacy between grief and aliveness, some sacred exchange between what seems unbearable and what is most exquisitely alive.
~Francis Weller
There is an intelligence about grief, and with courage, we can begin to understand how WE grieve and reclaim it as a natural part of life.
We can flow with Grief, we’ve just forgotten how.
Join me for a 90-minute experience to tend to our grief.
Light Leader Kundalini™ shows us how to work with the 5 elements and Meridian Mapping Method™ to embody and engage with the spiraling cycles of grief.
How do I know if this class is for me?
Grief is universal and holds a large continuum of experiences.
Throughout our life we will face grief through experiences that are life altering and devastating, seemingly smaller grievances during transitions and change which can be equally filled with hardship and pain, and then there is a collective grief which often goes unnoticed or feels out of our control through ancestorial wounding, destruction of the earth and war torn countries we see or hear of daily in our news outlets and through friends and family across the globe.
This class is to help you meet your grief, hold it, and begin to process or integrate it through your body.
Working with grief in this way can feel very empowering. Using the body to interface with grief creates space. In the space there is the possibility of hope, change, trust, nurturing, and acceptance.
It’s important for us to relearn and remember how to interface with grief and loss in a way that is honoring and not something that can be fixed, hurried, or ignored, because it can't.
Grief is sacred. Grief is our own and no one else can define how we experience or express our grief. There is no “right” way to grieve, however there are compassionate, holistic and integral ways to tend to grief which have been lost to our western world.
Grief tending, together, is potent medicine.
Learning to acknowledge one another’s grief in a way that is supportive and helpful has also been lost. Whether you are the griever or know someone grieving, what we do best is avoid it, we distract ourselves or others from it, or try to put it off until we have time to face it, we don't know what to say or how to ask for help.
We have a lot to learn about grief. This course is a steppingstone to bringing grief back into the normality of life. We cannot deny that life is about beginnings and endings. We celebrate one and disappear in the face of the other. We are told to “buck up”, that our emotions are “too much” or "inappropriate”, we have to fit our grief into a box so we can't get back to productivity, we hear unhelpful messages, we have little to no cultural, religious or spiritual reference for ritual and ceremony to honor our losses.
This workshop is for you if you are ready to tend to areas in your life that are tender, chronic, and even festering.
Some ways we experience grief and loss are:
Death of a loved one
Loss of relationship
Infertility
Miscarriage
Divorce
Separation
Loss of business
Moving
Loss of job
Empty nest
Health
Caregiving
Ageing —mobility, agility, strength
Injury
Ancestral wounds
Collective Pain (environmental, violence, war, child trafficking, abduction)
and the list goes on…
In our time together, we will learn about the touch points of grief through the lens of the 5-element cycle.
We will understand how grief can show up as emotional states, patterns of emotions, thoughts and physical sensations.
Patterns set in as a way of protecting ourselves. Without addressing our grief, we risk getting “stuck” in these patterns of behavior, and sometimes we need to help the energy of the body to flow again.
As a spiritual director, I offer an approach to grief tending which is a merging of contemplative care (sacred witnessing, allowing ourselves to just be with what is) and somatic practices where we begin to interface with our emotions where they reside within the body.
The elements in our environment are also expressed within us. The elemental cycle give us language to our energy body and a way to understand how emotions show us in our lived experience. It also helps us understand how we can create balance and shifts in our energy system to help us in our healing journey.
The elements give us a foundation to learn how grief can express itself as:
FEAR ~ ANGER ~ WORRY ~ ANXIETY ~ IMPATIENCE ~ DEPRESSION ~ SADNESS ~ UNCERTAINTY & MORE
